Tricky sums
With Tricky sums, your child doesn’t have to choose anything. The app looks at what went wrong or took a long time recently, and builds a round out of that.

How it works
The app looks at what your child has done recently. From that it puts together a round made up mostly of the sums that aren’t going well yet, with a few sums mixed in that your child already knows. That keeps it doable.
A round has at least 5 and at most 20 sums. Your child does them just like in Practice: with the number pad, and a wrong answer comes back later.
Where to find it
- On the home screen, with the Tricky sums tile.
- On the Practice screen, with the Practise my tricky sums button.
When it isn’t ready yet
There need to be at least 5 sums that still need work. If there are fewer, it says: "Not enough tricky sums yet — practise a bit first, then a round will show up here." Just let your child practise normally for a while. The round will then appear by itself.
If everything has stuck, it says All sorted! There’s nothing tricky left to practise, and that’s exactly the point.
It’s part of Pro
Tricky sums is part of BlitzTables Pro, and of the fourteen-day free trial. Without Pro, that screen says "This feature is part of BlitzTables Pro." with a small About the subscription link. That link is for you, not your child: it first opens a button you have to press and hold for three seconds. See Free and Pro.
Without Pro, your child can still practise each table on its own, as often as they like. On Progress you can see which sums need the most attention.
