Privacy and taking your data with you
Your child’s work stays on the device they practise on. Moving to a new device? Then you take everything with you in one file that you keep yourself.

What happens to your child’s data
- There’s no account, and the app asks for no email address.
- What your child practises stays on the device. No practice data goes to a server.
- There are no adverts, and there’s no software from other companies inside that records what your child does.
- The app asks for no year of birth and no other personal details. Only a name or nickname, and that stays on the device.
- The payment service is only contacted when a grown-up, behind the button for grown-ups, looks at, buys or restores the subscription. Never while your child is practising.
The full privacy policy is in the app under Settings and then Privacy policy, and on this website under Privacy. It’s available in Dutch and English.
Taking your data to another device
Because everything stays on the device, nothing comes across to a new device by itself. That’s what Take your data with you is for: it puts every profile and all the practice history on this device into one file.
- Tap Progress, then the gear icon in the top right, and then Take your data with you.
- Press and hold the button for three seconds.
- Tap Create file and keep the file somewhere: in your email, in a cloud service or on a USB stick.
- On the new device, go to the same place and tap Load file.
What happens when you load the file
For each profile in the file, you can see whether it’s already on the device. Nothing is ever simply overwritten:
- If the profile isn’t there yet, you choose Add (it’s added as a new profile) or Skip.
- If the profile is already there, you choose Merge (the practice history is added to the existing profile) or Skip. Skip is the default then.
A profile that’s under Recently deleted on the new device also counts as "already there". For that one you can only choose Skip. If you want that practice history added, restore the profile first and then load the file again.
Good to know
- A profile that’s under Recently deleted on the old device does not go into the file. Restore it first if you want to take it with you. See More than one child on one device.
- The file is readable and not protected with a password. Keep it somewhere you trust, like any document with your child’s name on it.
- If the file has been edited by hand after it was made, the app won’t load it. That’s a hurdle against accidental tampering, not a lock.
Backups
On Android, the device’s automatic backup is deliberately switched off for BlitzTables. There, the file is the way to take your child’s work with you or get it back.
On iPhone and iPad, the app is included in the device’s iCloud backup, if that’s switched on. The file is still the way to move data to a different device, and to go from iPhone to Android or the other way round.
